Glencoe, Waco, and Dealey Plaza

Ballacholis
Feb. 12, 1692

Sir:
You are hereby ordered to fall upon the Rebels, the MacDonalds of Glencoe, and put all to the sword under 70. You are to have especial care, that the Old Fox and his Sons do upon no account escape your Hands, you are to secure all the avenues that no man can escape: this you are to put in Execution at five a Clock in the Morning precisely, and by that time or very shortly after it, I’ll strive to be at you with a stronger party. If I do not come at five, you are not to tarry for me but fall on. This is by the King’s Special command, for the good and safety of the country, that these miscreants may be cut off root and branch. See that this be put in execution without Feud or Favor, else you may expect to be treated as not true to the King or Government nor a man fit to carry Commission in the King’s Service. Expecting you will not fail in the fulfilling hereof as you love yourself, I subscribed these with my hand.

Signed Robert Duncanson

For Their Majesties Service

To Captain Robert Campbell of Glenlyon

A few nights ago the Documentary Channel played the film, Waco: The Rules of Engagement. (Can be seen on You Tube.) After watching this sordid affair live in 1993 and again with fresh details, it did not take long to remind me of the massacre at Glencoe Scotland in 1692. The parallels between the Branch Davidians and The MacDonald Clan of the Scottish Highlands is remarkable. It also reminded me of elements of the JFK assassination as well and I’ll bring that in line in a moment. The general end result of these undertakings was to add additional mistrust of the government and show how little things change in how we are systematically governed.

Glencoe:
Basically, after the last Jacobite Uprising was put down the British Crown sought oaths of allegiance from the various Scottish clans. For various reasons, some partly because of severe winter conditions and other errors great and small, Alastair MacIain, chief of the MacDonald clan, didn’t oblige under the deadline. This was taken as a bad sign and the wheels were rapidly set in motion to resolve issue, viewed as an act of rebellion.

See the letter above of the written order from the King’s representative Robert Duncanson to Capt. Robert Campbell to take action against the “miscreants” and to “secure all the avenues that no man can escape...” Campbell’s troops had been billeted for weeks on MacDonald clan property and given full hospitality due at that time from ancient Highland tradition. The end result was deaths of 38 MacDonald men (Alastair MacIain being the first) and around 40 women and children from exposure after their homes were destroyed. This tragedy is enshrined in Scottish history and lore in song and verse.

The inquiry that ensued played out like they do now. A commission was set up to investigate the crime. The commission report issued to the Scottish Parliament who declared the execution of the MacDonald men to be acts of murder and petitioned the King with recommendations for punishment and be handed out to the perpetrators and reparations to be paid the MacDonald clan. Nothing was ever acted upon.

Waco:
While the local Sheriff had no problems with David Koresh (Vernon Howell) and the Branch Davidians (a break-off group from the 7th Day Adventists) apparently someone in the halls of the Clinton Justice Department did. Basically, get too far out of mainstream society, have multiple wives and children from them, blur the line between Messiah and Prophet, own a large supply of guns, preach the “end is nigh” and you’ll get their attention. By comparison, Alastair MacIain and the MacDonald clan were the Highlander version of June and Ward Cleaver.

The Waco Siege started on February 28, 1993 with the BATF attempted a search warrant of the Branch Davidian ranch at Mount Carmel for illegal firearms. It is still a confusion to this day who fired first. Naturally, both sides blame each other. Whatever, the ATF took a beating with four killed and 16 wounded. They had to retreat. Five Davidians were killed and many wounded including Koresh. Shortly thereafter the FBI took charge of a 51-day standoff that ending on April 19 when flames engulfed the compound. The FBI maintains the Davidians started the fire but additional infrared footage that can be seen online (link below) clearly showing the effects of a flash fire as described by the survivors. The end result: Seventy-six men, women and children died in the fire, including Koresh.

The remarkable thing about the documentary Waco: The Rules of Engagement is you can tell the various ATF and FBI agents are lying and covering up the massacre. You can see it in their eyes. But even more remarkable is infrared overhead video shot of as the compound is attacked by tanks and eventually burned to the ground. On segment shows the footage being analyzed by none other than the inventor of FLIR himself, Dr. Edward Allard, formerly with the Army's NVL (Night Vision Laboratory). In his expert opinion the flashes seen near the compound buildings as the fires start are gunfire. The FBI has always stated they never did fire a single shot into the compound. I guess the bullet wounds in the dead bodies don’t count as evidence? Interestingly enough, Dr. Allard’s expert testimony was never called upon just as Dr. Joseph Dolce was never asked for testimony when he proved through a controlled test with Oswald’s rifle shooting at cadavers that CE399 could not produce the damage it allegedly did.

The Congressional investigation and report reads no differently than it would if it were written in 1692. As Senator Warren Hatch said the investigation showed no sign of “government corruption”; in other words, conspiracy to commit murder on women and children. Any and all testimony of the survivors that contradicted the FBI was dismissed. Amazingly, their analysis of the FLIR video conclude that the Branch Davidians set the fires in the buildings themselves. How is that for lying eyes? The Warren Commission did the same thing with the Zapruder film, acting like it proved the rear kill-shot. Dan Rather breathlessly reported seeing an advance copy of the Zapruder film and described how you could see Kennedy’s body violently thrown forward from a shot from behind. I guess Danny Boy thought we’d never see the film so he could get away with this. That almost came true till Jim Garrison fought Time to the Supreme Court. And we still had to wait till 1975 before it was shown nationwide.

All this proves is, once again, the government cannot be trusted to investigate itself. The foxes burned down the henhouse and their fellow foxes showed up to exonerate their pals of the crime. The chickens after all, have no standing.

Dealey Plaza:
Oh, if we just had this overhead FLIR video of Dealey Plaza! Of course, even if we did, the Warren Commissioners would only see three muzzle flashes from the sixth floor window. It would take years for the public to see the film. Vince Bugliosi would write a book explaining the heat signatures from the grassy knoll were reflections and to hell with the fifty witnesses. The mainstream press would laud the great technology and but ultimately side with the government.

The events of John Kennedy’s assassination lie perched between Glencoe and Waco like a movie seen way too many times. They are all tied together by government investigations, commission reports, denial of conspiracy, and nothing much resolved. (I probably could have laced in the 9/11 attacks too but we do not know enough about it yet to find a place, despite how it simmers on.) The same players are all here only with different names and faces. It is as if they came back from the past to reprise their roles. Only this time the King has no allies and is left exposed to his enemies. Apparently, many of the kings and queens of old England had a more secure power base to rule from.

That phrase from Robert Duncanson’s order to Captain Campbell that went, “See that this be put in execution without Feud or Favor, else you may expect to be treated as not true to the King or Government nor a man fit to carry Commission in the King’s Service,” reads like an order given to conspirators in this case. Or even the Warren Commission members. Maybe Lee Oswald was given such a command. The threat is clearly implied; do the dirty deed or else suffer the consequences. Unlike Waco or the Kennedy murder, at last two lieutenants refused to follow along, breaking their swords in protest. They were arrested but exonerated, suffering no ill consequences for their brave stand of conscience. Their names were Francis Farquhar and Gilbert Kennedy (no, the irony is not lost on me). A pity such fine men were not active in the Waco or Dealey Plaza investigations. What man said, “No, I shall not spray CS gas on women and children.” There was not one. What man on the Warren Commission said, “No, I shall not go along with this charade.” There was not one to be had. (Though I must give credit to Sen. Richard Russell who believed the commission was was nothing but political theater and never bought the lone bullet theory, and at one point even wrote a letter of resignation. He was a conspiratorialist and critic in the years that followed and as early as 1964 believed it was rogue elements of the CIA and anti-Castro Cubans that were behind the assassination.)

The Wrap Up
A few hours after John Kennedy’s death the lone gunman theory is in play. A few hours after all the people die in the Branch Davidian compound the government concludes it is all the fault of the victims. A few hours after 9/11 Osama bin Laden is pegged with the crime long before the smoke clears. The tie that binds all of these tragedies is the initial explanations never change. They are quick to put a story out, they spend millions investigating, and issue a report that verifies what they originally disclosed when they supposedly knew little. And it happens every time with everything like this.

The conclusion of the Scottish Parliament's commission investigation into Glencoe was to exonerate King William and to place the blame for the massacre upon Lord Advocate and joint Secretary of State over Scotland, John Dalrymple. The conclusion of the Warren Commission was to exonerate all government agencies and anyone outside of government that had a grudge against John Kennedy, lying all blame on a man with no motive. The Congressional investigation and report on Waco exonerated the BATF and the FBI of any wrong doing no matter how many lies they told. The 9-11 Commission Report did the same thing for all government and military agencies; nobody was fired and indeed, many saw their careers advanced. Only the House Select Committee on Assassinations put forth there maybe was a conspiracy in the death of JFK but sought no ultimate resolution of the case.

In the end, the people of Glencoe never got justice. Nobody of high standing went to prison. The Scots were left remembering the event in stone monuments, verse, and novels. The massacre was a conspiracy formed in the highest levels of government, the crime committed by them, and the investigation conducted by them. And it never changes as human nature remains the same whether it is in the green hills of Glencoe, the dusty plains of Texas, or the streets of Dealey Plaza.

The Three Wise Men Part 1

The Warren Commission Power Brokers

“The Commission had been set up to lay the dust ... not only in the USA, but all over the world.”
John J. McCloy

As I have maintained in past articles we can debate forever whether or not there was a conspiracy in the death of John F. Kennedy. I am quite sure there was through my own study of the case. Until other evidence comes forward, it will always be one based on circumstantial evidence. However, it is quite apparent that a massive cover-up occurred. The concealment of important facts runs through the whole case. It can be subtle or it can be blatant. Subtle as in sealing up thousands of files on the case as state secrets and as blatant as what the government did in disrupting Jim Garrison’s trial of Clay Shaw. Many declassified files show that they were not withheld on grounds of national security; it is usually evidence that didn’t prove the lone gunman theory that is withheld.

And how do you orchestrate a cover-up? By getting the best people in the business to do the dirty work! The Warren Commission was loaded with them, both internally and externally. Internally being half of the commissioners and select members of the legal staff; externally by the outside players such as Hoover, Helms, Johnson, Specter, et all.

But there arose a power dynamic in the Commission itself that proved the most powerful. Two Eastern Establishment men, John J. McCloy and Allen Dulles and one Washington insider, Gerald R. Ford. The formed a formable tag-team which subdued Earl Warren from the beginning when he wanted his old friend Warren Olney for chief council. A cabal of McCloy and Ford along with Hoover and a few others got that snuffed out quickly resulting in J. Lee Rankin taking the post. Rankin was McCloy’s pick and would prove a useful ally of the clique.

If you take a look at the background of these men you can get a better glimpse in how they functioned during the inquest and how impotent the Commission was in investigating John Kennedy’s death, leading to the never ending controversy we experience today.

John J. McCloy...The Inside Man
In Kia Bird’s excellent biography (and aptly titled) of McCloy, The Chairman: John J. McCloy & The Making of the American Establishment, offers the best glimpse into the the life and actions of a man that would later become one of the most a powerful figures in the Warren Commission. The ultimate insider, John J. McCloy was a man who easily moved between government and the corporate world. He was a man with a unique sense of timing who arrived at the right place, at the time in history. After making his fortune as a Wall Street lawyer he did a stint as assistant secretary of War for Henry L. Stimson. At war’s end he was appointed as High Commissioner for Germany. He was at the founding of the influential Council on Foreign Relations and the World Bank, and served as chairman of both, besides do a stint as chairman of Chase Manhattan Bank. To say he was an over achiever is a major understatement. He’s the bull in the China shop that helped build the shop too.

The Japanese American Internment
It was during his stint as assistant secretary of War that McCloy made the first of many controversial, and some would say, illegal acts. Under Secretary of War Stimson he was given the task of looking into the what was called the “west coast security problem”. Namely, they were suspicious of people of Japanese decent. McCloy was in favor of rounding them up and placing them in camps as suggested by California Congressman Leland M. Ford. McCloy found few who would go along with this plot till he met the Attorney General of the State of California. Guess who? None other than, the esteemed Earl Warren! Years later Warren came to regret his part in this mess; McCloy never did and was openly opposed to reparations for Japanese Americans that were wrongfully imprisoned in the camps.

Bad enough he is involved with this, but in one of the early legal battles over this gross violation of Constitutional and civil rights, part of the plaintiff's argument was based on race. The Army admitted such in a report. McCloy got that point taken out of the report and the Japanese American’s remained in concentration camps till Mitsuye Endo, petitioned the Supreme Court for a writ of habeas corpus on the grounds that detention in relocation camps was unlawful. The Supreme Court ruled in his favor and over 100,000 Japanese Americans were ordered released in December of 1944.

Here is John McCloy, being presented to the American public in 1964 as a man of honor with a long history of service to his country, obstructing justice and altering material evidence. But this is just a start; Germany is next on his world tour.

High Commissioner for Germany
After doing several years as president of the World Bank (1947-49), McCloy was appointed High Commissioner to Germany replacing Lucius Clay. This begins the most controversial part of his career and it revolves around two major Nazi war criminals; Klaus Barbie, the Butcher of Lyon and Reinhard Gehlen, Hitler’s intelligence chief of the eastern front. He also reviewed hundreds of cases and commuted the death sentences of numerous killers, such as a large group of SS Einsatzgruppen officers.

An important point to make here is that Operation Paperclip was in play during this time. While on the surface it looked as if the bad guys were being brought to justice as the Nuremberg trials, behind the scenes the allied governments (mainly USA and UK) and the military were making sure the Nazis that might benefit our interests were protected from the hangman’s noose and put to work. A case in point is Werner Von Braun and his team of rocket engineers that formed the cadre that beat the Russians to the moon in the formative days NASA. There were bigger fish to catch and no matter how vile they were did not matter. It was the “ends justify the means” once again.

Both Klaus Barbie and Reinhard Gehlen were major finds for the U.S. Army Counter Intelligence Corps (CIC). Never mind that Barbie was a fiendish sadist and Gehlen did Hitler’s dirty work in the eastern front. They were both put to work for American interests. However, when you play in the mud long enough you will get dirty. And McCloy eventually had problems with his Nazis.

When RenĂ© Hardy, a former French resistance member was put on trial in France on grounds of treason (helping to get fellow members killed by Barbie), the French authorities needed Klaus Barbie to testify. But McCloy had Barbie mud on his hands. Besides all the dirt he had on everybody, and infiltrating the German communists in Bavaria, he also had been working on setting up a network within French Intelligence. That genie couldn’t be let out of bottle so McCloy stalled, telling the French he didn’t know where Barbie was at. A lie of course. Barbie was tucked away in a CIC safe house at the time. RenĂ© Hardy to was acquitted since the star witness never showed. Barbie escaped to Bolivia to lead a life of crime there. Reinhard Gehlen’s organization helped helped him get away. In later years McCloy denied any knowledge of Klaus Barbie.

Reinhard Gehlen was not the problem Klaus Barbie was but he carried a lot of baggage that should have put him in docket. During the war, Gehlen created partisan groups made up of Ukrainian and Slavic nationalists to fight the Soviets. These groups in turn, carried out some of the worst atrocities (ethic cleansing) that took place during the war. Gehlen did come with his own built-in intelligence network in Russia so he used that as a bargaining chip to escape trial and possible execution. He later was paid by the CIA shortly after its forming and was instrumental in the formative years of the intelligence agency. The Gehlen Organization as it became known became a safe haven for former SS and Gestapo criminals including Franz Six, the head of the Einsatzgruppen. Some of the intelligence gathered was questionable and Gehlen was experienced in telling his Masters what they wanted to hear in regards to the Soviet Cold War threat.

The End Game
So we have here a glimpse into who John J. McCloy was and how he worked through events in his career, and provide insight into how McCloy would function on the Warren Commission. Earlier, with the Japanese American internment, and later giving Nazi criminals a pass, McCloy shows a certain dishonesty of character, a distain for the rule of law, and lack of conscience. Hardly traits one would fine honorable. The idea that McCloy thought that Americans of Japanese decent could be studied like guinea pigs is no different than how the Nazi scientists viewed Jews and other Slavic peoples. Roosevelt adviser Harold Ickes once said of McCloy, “He is more or less inclined to be a fascist.” He could have added racist on top of that as well.

What McCloy displays is a lack of basic empathy for other human beings (unless they are Nazis). Lack of compassion is the trait of the sociopath. During the war years he was opposed to doing anything to help the concentration camp inmates in Poland and elsewhere in Europe. Ironically, he shows much more tolerance for their killers, not only saving many from execution, but giving them gainful employment. Reinhard Gehlen for example, made millions from his CIA contract work. This whole notion of working with such reprehensible people is repellent and was surely known to the the insiders during this period. The average citizen was of course kept in the dark. Just as the public is still kept in the dark regarding the Kennedy assassination.

What John J. McCloy was good at was being a fixer. He started out fixing things for the big name clients as a Wall Street lawyer and went to patch up dealing with unsavory characters that our government needed to do business with. He served the same purpose on the Warren Commission to make sure the lone gunman plot was followed. Laying the dust, so to speak. I guess in the world of power politics, ethics takes on a whole new meaning when the bad guys have things you need. Normal concepts of truth and justice are perverted as the ends justify the means. And John J. McCloy lived a life of it.

Adventures of a JFK Blogger

I assumed after I listed my email address after I started this research blog into the Kennedy assassination I would all kinds of interesting characters contacting me. And they did. A mixed collection of pranksters, guys with far-out theories, authors, random individual stories, and thankfully, legitimate researchers that have been around for years doing yeoman work. I knew getting into this everybody has a theory and some were going to be kooky. It is the loony ones that bring all of this ridicule and mockery from the Establishment that insists that conspiracies to kill presidents haven’t happened since Abe Lincoln went to Ford’s Theater in 1865.

I was contacted last week by one of the far-outs. This guy proposed the idea that the grassy knoll shooter was a diversion; the real kill shot came from Jackie. Brother, spare me! He provided links and all, but I never darkened the site of those pages. I wonder if some guys enjoy pulling pranks with this nonsense. Or maybe somebody else thinking I’ll bite and write on article on this subject. Needless to say, I never responded back. How can I? The only fringe topic I like to explore is the doppelganger theory. And the only reason I’m on to that is because of the evidence that there might actually have been a double of Oswald in play. It does help to iron out the conflicts in Lee Oswald’s timeline as they are legion. There is a load of high strangeness in the Kennedy assassination and sorting it all out is a quite a chore. Rabbit trails abound; it’s avoiding the rat holes you encounter along the way.

One of the lesser far-outs wrote to me about an article in Rolling Stone from years ago about Oswald showing up somewhere, and talking to some guy about LDS and how this would be big in the years to come. Of course LSD was largely unknown at the time except to the Timothy Leary bunch and the weirdoes at the CIA conducting the MK-ULTRA experiments on unsuspecting (and sometimes suspecting) souls. Of course, LSD would make its impact a few years later via the hippie/youth movement culture, but I fail to see why this matters or where it fits. It’s another distraction. I quickly move on.

I was pleased to get an email from Tommy G. Thompson. A Texas based artist now, he was attending Stripling Junior High Fort Worth in 1963 and recalls the hullaballoo that erupted when the FBI showed up. Lee’s mother Marguerite was living in a duplex right across the street from the school at the time. He says he knew assistant principle Frank Kudlaty, who he described as a “straight shooter.” Kudlaty gave his account in John Armstrong’s Harvey and Lee, of handing over Lee Oswald’s school records to the FBI the day after the assassination. Of course that raises a major problem as Oswald’s surviving school records have him attending Beauregard Junior High in New Orleans at the same time. But his brother, mother and some fellow students remember him attending Stripling in the fall of 1954. A strange incident in the annals of the investigation to be sure. Anyway, it was good to be contacted by someone so close the event at the time.

One of the more interesting and annoying encounters I’ve had was with journalist Russ Baker. He’s the author of Family of Secrets, regarding the history of the Bush family. In my piece, What Did Poppy Know And When Did He Know It?, I listed his book as a source. Shortly thereafter, I got a full-page email in which he was alternately nice and alternately anal. I received a lecture on the proper form of using references, such as how the author’s name should be listed (last name, first name, book title). Hey, it’s a blog, not a doctrinal thesis! I did take his advice on that issue and have since wrote them in proper form. He then lectured me on the context of which they were used in the relation to each other. Whoa. I had the feeling Mr. Ego Man wasn’t in the mood to share the stage with anybody else mentioned in the piece. He then went on to imply I was plagiarizing his work, which is funny as what I was writing about is publicly known, or would be known to a researchers of the JFK assassination. Then he finished off asking me to post a link on my blog to his book link on Amazon. What cheek! What am I, a free PR outlet for his book? Like he would give me a link on his site or do anything for me. Or course I passed.

I never replied and back and never heard from him again. I’m just a little blogger out here, no threat to anyone. I do respect Mr. Baker for wanting to protect his work but this approach is like trying to swat a fly with a Louisville slugger. It is akin to producing your own translation of the Bible and then putting your copyright on it (which by the way, had been done). The whole affair left me with ambivalent feelings for this man. A while back I heard his interview on the C2C AM show and Russ Baker is apparently well versed in the art of the self-promoter. At one point he made reference to “...the secrets I uncovered in my book.” Having read his book I wondered, what secrets? Virtually everything he wrote about is public knowledge or has been documented by other authors. As a JFK researcher it is familiar to me, though possibly not to the public at large on this subject. However, it is good to have all of this information on the Bush family in a single volume to study.

Though I have a hard time believing any of it, if you want to read some really wild dirt on the Bush clan then check out Sherman Skolnick. The late mud-raker’s web site is www.skolnicksreport.com. Though rarely sourced, and deeply influenced by dark conspiracies, Skolnick’s digging rages on, making Russ Baker seem like he didn’t go far enough, only looking through a dusty window into the basement Bush family intrigues; though Baker’s work is believable and competently sourced. Perhaps a deeper look into Skolnick’s work would yield some grains of truth we don’t want to face. Such as, just how deep and dark are our politics?

One valuable lesson I learned in writing articles here is to avoid other people’s pissing matches. I didn’t one time and got burned. There are two sides to every story so find out what the other says before you dig in. Or better yet, just let it be.

Marguerite Oswald as Doppelganger?

As I stated in my four-part series, Lee Oswald Was A Weird Dude, I have some issues with Lee Oswald doppelganger theory. You start out with the general strangeness of the concept followed by other mysteries that can never be fully resolved. Such as, what happens to the other Oswald after the assassination? Is he killed by the conspirators? Does he get his face rearranged and sent on other covert missions? Is he set up in a witness protection program? If he is being impersonated it starts out as a teenager. That would mean there needs two mothers being impersonated as well. And they have to resemble each other. So now you have in play two moms and two sons. As Hunter S. Thomson once said, “When the going gets weird the weird turn pro.” No doubt this is the case here. If Oswald-as-double is wacky, give them each a mom and the horse has just been thrown off the cliff.

The Records and the Witnesses
The witness testimony forms two different, though consistent portraits of Marguerite Oswald. One group has her a tall, attractive woman with a pleasing personality. The other group describes her as short, overweight, poorly dressed, with a throughly unpleasant personality. Many people having known Marguerite just a few years before the assassination were surprised with her looks after her picture was splashed through the press. When one witness who knew the short, heavy Marguerite is shown a picture of the tall, thin, attractive one they often can’t recognize the Marguerite they knew. Just note of the pictures above. The Marguerite from 1945 is tall, slim and trim. The Marguerite from 1963 is short and squatty.

Marguerite Oswald lived a nickel to dime existence for most of her life. Of her three marriages, two ended in divorce and one by death (Lee and Robert’s dad). Most of her jobs were in retail sales or home nursing. She apparently did a lot of “off the books” employment. She never stayed at an employer for very long. Despite a life teetering near poverty she never had a problem buying a house and bought and sold many. The questioning of finances is one issue but the things she does with the houses are another. In her brief time living with Lee in New York she worked menial jobs while at the same time owning a house in Ft. Worth, Texas. She apparently did not consider renting it out and using those funds to finance living in New York. She eventually sold it to a neighbor after they asked if it were for sale. Or in 1950 when she wrote her son from her first marriage, John Pic, telling him she was two months behind in rent when she had bought a house in 1948. Why rent another place when she owned a house? Or for that matter, have the income to do such a thing.

Also of interest is Marguerite Oswald’s employment at the Dolly Shoe Company in the spring of 1955. She was known for being unfriendly, a constant complainer, and never smiled. This was the short, heavy woman the world would meet after the assassination. She got her boss to get Lee a job as well. Being the cashier, eventually her boss required her to be bonded. He handed her the forms to fill out, which she never did. Nor would she give a straight answer as to why not. Eventually she was fired. Of course, filling out the forms would leave a paper trail. It would also require Marguerite to give background information and references on herself, revealing things she might not want known. Would a bond application create a conflict with another Marguerite?

In 1960, two women that were good friends with Marguerite Oswald, Mrs. Logan Magruder and Mrs. Oris Duane both reporting meeting her in New Orleans. (This was the tall, attractive version.) Both women spoke to her at the time. Mrs. Magruder saw and chatted with her while working in Kreiger’s Department store and Mrs. Duane saw and spoke to her in Goldring’s Department store selling dresses. A conflict arrises here as the Warren Commission states that Marguerite was supposed to have moved out of New Orleans in June of 1956 to Ft. Worth, Texas never to return. In September of 1960 she moved to Boyd Texas, north of Ft. Worth and opened a small variety shop on Main street and opened a bank account at the Continental State Bank. Yet, here are two women who had been friends with Marguerite since the 1940’s who say they saw and spoke to her where she should not have been. Apparently the FBI never investigated this lead in Louisiana.

Peculiarities Abound
Marguerite Oswald, in every interview either with government authorities to newspaper reporters often gave conflicting testimony about her life and related events. When interviewed by a New York probation officer in relation to Lee being truant, she gave conflicting accounts of her life. She got at least five things wrong, from the number years she had been married (a total of 13 years from three marriages but she said 9) to getting Lee’s birth date wrong. What mother does not know her own child’s birthday? At the age of 44 it seemed as if she did not know her own life story on many different levels. Perhaps that is because this “Marguerite” was an impostor with too much to remember?

Marguerite’s Warren Commission testimony is likewise filled with contradictions and misstatements that are for the most part, ignored by her questioners. To read the transcript of her testimony is to see a woman with an annoying character, a babbler, constantly rambling off the point, always in need of being herded back on the right path. At one point she mislead the Commission when she was asked if any FBI agents had spoken to her before the assassination. She said no. This was not true. She was visited in regards to her son’s defection to the USSR once in 1960, and twice in 1961. An odd thing to lie about as it is so easily proven. Or, this could just have been the misstatements of an impostor not knowing or remembering pertinent facts.

By the time she got around to telling the Commission she thought her son Lee was spy, they had written her off as a kook. At this point she had discredited herself in their eyes with her meandering testimony and oddball theories. As one of the Commission member’s said, we can see how the son turned out with a mother like this.

What Happens Afterward?
One of my main conflicts with the Oswald doppelganger theory as I stated earlier in their piece, is what happens to the other Oswald after the assassination. Even John Armstrong who wrote the definitive book on the Oswald being a doppelganger in, Harvey and Lee, doesn’t deal with these troubling issues. Armstrong has nothing to say in regards to what happens to the other “Marguerite” afterward either, other than stating that the woman seen by her friends working in department stores in New Orleans disappears from the scene. If this is a CIA run operation it seems inconceivable that they would hire such a batty woman as Marguerite Oswald to be an operative. On the other hand, her IRS returns are sealed from 1956-1962. Marked “referred...postponed in full...” for reasons only the government knows we are not allowed to see these records. Why? Opening those files to public access might explain a lot--or else create more mysteries. Is this a cover for an operation? (Lee’s tax returns also locked up from 1956-1962 and listed as “referred...postponed in full.”) Ironic that while this is concealed from the public, we are allowed to see Jack Ruby’s mother’s dental records.

It is also of note that a John and Minnie Smith have their returns from this same period also sealed and marked, “referred...postponed in full.” Getting access to this couple’s tax returns might blow open a few lids. Were John and Minnie Smith aliases for the other Marguerite and Lee? In fact, I find this to be one of the most peculiar and obscure mysteries of the Kennedy assassination and not well investigated. I only read about it in Amstrong’s Harvey and Lee and no place else.

Finally
If it was some sort of intelligence operation it was done on the fly, make it up as you go along. For example if I let one Lee Oswald go to the barbershop, I would have him go on the weekends, not during a week day when his employment records indicate he was filling out orders in the school book depository building at the same time. The same exact thing occurs with his mother, working in department stores in New Orleans when she is living and employed in Ft. Worth. There is a large witness trail here, far too large to be a fluke. It’s a scary part of the research and many fear to tread here. It is truly fringe work.

There are still millions of files that are sealed on this case. Of course, many files have been destroyed but every so often a little known memo surfaces. So at some future date we may learn more, a lot more of what really went on here. Whatever the future brings, the doppelganger issue may be the biggest secret of the Kennedy assassination and why the cover up is so systemic in our government.

FOX Bones TV Show Sides With Warren Commission

Bones, a TV program on the Fox network is another one of those ever popular forensic investigation shows. Over the past week they have been advertising it very heavily showing clips of the team investigating evidence into the Kennedy assassination. Naturally, I decided to watch the show as I assumed they might side with the government’s side of the events. I was not to be disappointed in my assumption.

The Show
Without getting too deeply into the show’s plot, which was is mess, filled with unresolved mysteries, vague objectives and an inane subplot, the Bones forensic team finds itself under lock-down by a federal agency that shows up with a skeleton. The mission--find out information on skeletal remains, though it was unclear what that information would be, nor are they allowed to determine the identity of the individual. After a while it dawns on the team of experts that this might be the bones of John F. Kennedy. The remains had spinal problems, a defect on a vertebra from a “transiting shot” and a large hole in the back of the skull. Examining the damage to the cranium they determine a fatal bullet shot from the rear.

Researching further, they download an computer animation from the DOJ of Kennedy being assassinated. Curiously it looks just like one of Dale Myers’ animations that have been shown on plenty of those Discovery Channel specials. Myers work is controversial and researcher Pat Speers has done a remarkable job analyzing Myers’ animations much to his discontent. Check out Pat Speers’ site HERE and my article (Dale Myers and Pat Speer Duke it Out) HERE.

If all of this isn’t far-out enough for the producers of this show, members of the forensic team find a secret passageway to retrieve a copy of the alleged assassination rifle, the Mannlicher-Carcano, so they can do a live firing test on a melon. Whereby they determine there was probably a second shooter and hence, a conspiracy. One of the team members, Booth, a former military veteran, cannot grasp the fact that government would lie to the American people and cover up the assassination of a President. Finally a test is performed on the bones to determine the body is not Kennedy’s after all, much to the relief of Booth. Who the bones belong to is never explained nor why this exercise is done is never made fully clear.

This is my first viewing of Bones and my last.

Test firing of the melon from the Bones TV program. Notice the rear skull wound is via the Warren Report and not from the numerous witness accounts of a massive blow-out.

What Do We Have Here?
The Bones episode on this matter is silly to the point of absurdity. To have a skeleton supposedly that of a slain president (never mind the problems of getting the body exhumed), complete with similar anatomical issues that finally turns out not to be JFK allows for an easy way out. No need to create doubt in the official FBI/CIA story and get in trouble with anybody. I’m sure the producers don’t want to end being up raked over the coals like say, Oliver Stone, now do they? I don’t know why they still bother. A majority of the public does not support the government’s claims and believe in a conspiracy in the death of John F. Kennedy. Trying to convince them otherwise is a waste of time. But they never give up do they?

I thought it of interest that despite tackling this subject never once was the Warren Commission mentioned, Oswald’s name, the name of the rifle, or any other information along these lines. It’s the unmentionables. Naturally, the one Bones team member that believed in the conspiracy is defined as paranoid and hence, a kook. That is of course predictable.

It is intriguing that the Fox network would even want to wade into the muddy waters of the Kennedy assassination. One thing is for certain is that the mainstream media in this country has always treated the Warren Report as if it is the final word, above reproach, no matter what evidence to the contrary is uncovered and no matter how flawed the initial investigation was. What television shows like this do is perpetuate the myth of John Kennedy’s demise, according to the officially sanctioned narrative. I assumed they would side with the government’s version of events and they did. It’s as predictable any any network documentary into the subject, or any of the shame investigations created by the Discovery Channel.

Cognitive Infiltration

 Cass Sunstein

By now, Cass Sunstein’s comments on “cognitive infiltration” have made the rounds. A phrase coined by Sunstein, a former Harvard law professor and currently the Administrator of the White House Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs. Along with coauthor Adrian Vermeule, these characters tackle the issue of conspiracy believers in their article, Conspiracy Theories: Causes and Cures."

A paragraph from the article, quoted in Marc Estrin’s blog, The Rag Blog is quoted as follows:

[W]e suggest a distinctive tactic for breaking up the hard core of extremists who supply conspiracy theories: cognitive infiltration of extremist groups, whereby government agents or their allies (acting either virtually or in real space, and either openly or anonymously) will undermine the crippled epistemology of believers by planting doubts about the theories and stylized facts that circulate within such groups, thereby introducing beneficial cognitive diversity. (Page 219.)

Cognitive diversity my ass. It disgusts me of what has become of our public servants. People like Sunstein are playing the role of managing the herd rather than being a servant of the people. The role of government should be the supporting of free speech and ideas rather than the curtailing of it. And then what government agency is supposed to be disrupting these groups? Our Founders would be appalled that this is what became of the Republic they founded.

Revolting, but of course this is nothing new. The FBI has used agent provocateurs for years to defame and disrupt everybody from the Black Panthers to the G8 protests.  Lee Oswald was most likely one when he was trying to infiltrate the DRE in the summer of 1963. The CIA went to the trouble to write up a handbook on dealing with Warren Report critics through their shills in the mainstream press. The same song and dance, only now couched in the fancier words of the next generation of lawyers. People like Sunstein treat government pronouncements as if they are the word of God etched in stone, above reproach. Our Founders did not trust the government, that is why they sought to limit their powers through a Constitution and Bill of Rights. How far we have fallen...

Ultimately, it shows how afraid they are of free speech and free thought; how desperately they want us to believe them despite the continuous lies and defiance of the rule of law. The only conspiracy theories they are comfortable with are the “official” narratives coming from the Imperial Federal Government. And of course, that is the source of the problem as so many explanations from government investigations for events don’t wash. The JFK/RFK/MLK assassinations and in more recent times, the 9/11 attacks being a case(s) in point.

If their official investigation results are true, then what do they have to fear? As the editor at puppetgov.com said, “I thought they were secure with their “version” of what happened on 9/11?” The same thing they had to fear from Jim Garrison’s little state trial of Clay Shaw which the Feds worked overtime to disrupt. So scared they had to bring in everybody from the majors to the farm teams to rip that one to shreds.

Further on Cass Sunstein makes the point that conspiracy beliefs are not born in irrationality or mental illness (thanks!) but from a limited amount of sources the believers can trust in. Of course, this is nonsense and shows how out of touch these Harvard elites are. I believe in a conspiracy to assassination JFK but I never limit myself to source materials either pro or con. Notice the idea of people going through the evidence and forming their own ideas has no play here. I guess we are not allowed our own ideas as Father knows best, right?

Sunstein himself is apparently no fan of free speech. In his book, On Rumors: How Falsehoods Spread, Why We Believe Them, What Can Be Done, he shows a distain for bloggers, raising methods of how to contain them and their comments (libel lawsuits). So concerned, he envisions a future where “people's beliefs are a product of social networks working as echo chambers in which false rumors spread like wildfire." If only the 9/11 Commission had this ability! Or the Warren Commission before them. Of course, they did pretty well with shills in the mainstream press (operation Mockingbird) for decades but that is mostly over now with the advent of the Internet giving the public the ability to be a pamphleteer from the comfort of home. Note: This does not apply to anything the government would say, only critics and doubters of the official narratives.

As Rob Balsamo, founder of Pilots for 9/11 Truth, said: “We have not located any independently verified data which confirms the government’s story..." Maybe if they would not hide everything away as a State Secret the people would be more accepting of official explanations of the tragedies that befall us. Sunstein could care less about this as it’s the individual that is at fault here and not the government’s way of explaining things. That is why it is so unique that the Warren Commission released so much data in the 26 volumes of evidence. (A lot of which contradicts the official report.) Commission member Allen Dulles wasn’t worried about it; he told Hale Boggs that the people wouldn’t bother reading it. Well, they would if given easy access to it, which for years they were not. He never saw the rise of the internet and personal computers and the evidence being available to all. But they learned their lesson as no other official investigation will release their evidence now. They are, in effect, their own worst enemy in all of this. It is not us. The Cass Sunstein’s of the world have painted the critics as the enemy. And shame on him.

The Mysterious Package

One of the more obscure pieces of evidence in the Kennedy assassination is the package mailed to Lee Oswald shortly before the assassination from Irving, Texas. There are two things wrong with it. One, the street address was wrong and two, there was insufficient postage. There was no return address either. Discovered in the dead letter department of the Irving, Texas post office two weeks after the assassination, it was a package Oswald never saw.  It will never be known if he knew this second bag was being mailed to him. The framing of a guilty man?

The Package Contents
The package was discovered by C. G. Twilley on December 4, 1963. It was addressed to Lee Oswald, but the address was for 601 West Nassau Street. A street that did not exist in Dallas, Texas. The package was short $.12 on the postage. Odd, as it was metered postage and not stamps.

The package was opened by Dallas Postmaster Harry Holmes, a controversial figure in the course of the investigation. (He was the only non-police officer to question Oswald.) The package contained a long, empty paper bag similar to the one found in the sixth floor of the Texas school book depository building (CE142). This original bag was 38 x 8.5 inches in length. It is assumed Oswald made the bag to sneak the rifle into the building but Troy West who worked in the shipping department states that he never saw Oswald there. Apparently, only one witness, Wesley Frasier saw Oswald with the package. (He later flunked his polygraph examination.) Also, Oswald’s fingerprints were never found on the paper bag discovered by Dallas police detectives, just as his fingerprints were never found on the money order he is supposed to have used to order the rifle with.

So here we have a second paper bag, basically identical to the one found on the sixth floor. This means that either Oswald was truly a nut that went around mailing empty paper bags to himself using phony addresses, which also would incriminate him for the crime; or two, he was part of a conspiracy and his fellow conspirators knew of his role in the plot and were out to frame him for the assassination to make sure he would be arrested.  A package mailed without sufficient postage, with no return address to a non-existent mailing address is a package designed to arrive at a location and mostly, meant to be discovered.  Which it would be as the FBI was keeping a watch on  all mail arriving to Lee Oswald after the assassination and after his death as well.

The Postage Due Card
As if all of this were not strange enough, on November 23, a post due card arrived at Ruth Paine’s address at 2515 W. 5th Street in Irving. It’s $.12 due, just as the package with the phony Nassau street address was. But there is no package for Oswald waiting for him with Ruth Paine’s address on it. Only the one with the Nassau address which is unknown till two weeks later. So the postage due card should never have been sent in the first place unless somebody at the post office knew Lee Oswald was using the 2515 W. 5th Street address as a drop-off. If that is the case, we’ll never know who or why.

So if you don’t want to believe in a conspiracy to kill John F. Kennedy then don’t. But you’ll always have the second paper bag, similar to the one Oswald supposedly used.

Who mailed him the other bag?
